The 22nd International Festival of Audiovisual Prorams takes place from 20th  to 25th January 2009.

During 5 days, Biarritz lives at television rythm. Dramas,series and serials, creative documentaries, reportages and current affairs, performing arts, short programs, the festival seeks to highlight the finest in production.

Open to people, the festival offers five days of ideal television : clear and thoughtful, independent, exacting, sensitive and insightful about the modern world, selected from the past year’s international productions.

The 13th International Festival of Young Cinematographers takes place in Saint-Jean-de-Luz from 7th October to 11th October 2008.

This festival is the showcase for feature films: first or second fiction films by young film directors.  Short films have also been included in the competition since 2007.

This year, we will have the opportunity to see 10 feature length films and 11 shorts made by directors from France and further afield: Quebec, Spain, Hungary, Mexico, Italy as well as co-productions from France/USA, Austria/France, France/ Tunisia, France/ Belgium.

Without forgetting the evening entertainment!

The festival will pay homage to Patrice Lecomte on the evening of Friday 10th at 8pm at the Jaï Alaï.  His first short and first feature length films will be shown and some of his friends will come along to show their friendship.

As all good things must come to an end, the festival finishes on Saturday night with a closing ceremony and Antoine de Caunes’ film: “Coluche, l’histoire d’un mec”.

Over a number of years, I led a very active and tiring professional life.  During that time, the only thing that kept me going were the holidays I managed to fit into my busy schedule.  They gave me the opportunity to recharge my batteries – and, Oh boy, did they need recharging!

But don’t forget that Kaioa is situated in a site of outstanding beauty with a magnificent view.  And the view is important; it shakes off the notion of limits and takes you as far as the eye can see.  As soon as you open the shutters in the morning, you feel soothed; you feel the weight falling from your shoulders.
Kaioa is away from the madding crowd – your only neighbours are the sea and the vegetation, but just a short walk away is the beach or the village centre.

Kaioa, means « seagull » in the Basque language.  For me it is the symbol of liberty and protection (the nest).  It is the home from where you can explore all the possibilities since it will be there to welcome you when you return.

The welcome at Kaioa is like when you visit friends.  The house has been prepared for you.  You will find books, CDs and DVDs, basic kitchen cupboard items such as oil and vinegar, salt and pepper, mustard, sugar, a baguette…
Information about the region and broadband internet access – for those of you who really can’t leave their work behind!

You only have to ask for the help or services that you want.  Would you like the meal to be waiting for you when you arrive on the first evening?  How about some recommendations for sites to visit, excursions, restaurants, etc.  Or even have your reservations made in advance for you – golf, bull-fighting, theatre… just ask.
